Forest Restoration w/ Eco Addendum

  • Grove Park/ Proctor Creek 709 Hortense Place Northwest Atlanta, GA, 30318 United States (map)

We invite Eco-A volunteers, neighbors and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest.

We’ll focus on removing invasive species carefully from this high-value forest. We’ll show how to recognize old growth forest remnants and we’ll end with a short walk to a beautiful section of Proctor Creek or walk thru the high forest near the ridgeline.

To register (RSVP) click HERE – details and directions sent to registered participants.

Volunteers have made great progress this year on preventing the spread of Kudzu outbreaks, and we’ve made great progress on removing English Ivy from trees – let’s finish off a few of these sections!

Note: Participation in this Stewardship session counts as credit toward completion of our online Eco-Literacy course. Click here for details.

We’ll walk approximately 1/2 to – 1 mile on natural trails along with some off-trail locations. Please bring work gloves and long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy shoes are recommended as we will be working in off-trail areas.

Due to Covid-19 precautions, we are not currently re-using gloves, so please bring your own gloves, or we can provide a brand new, unused pair for $5 that you can take home with you (and use next time).

To register (RSVP) click HERE – details and directions sent to registered participants.
